Kirkland Adsett was born in Fergus, Ontario. Kirk spent his formative childhood and teenaged years there in Wellington County until it was time to begin post-secondary education. Studies in music at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo and later at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, earned bachelors and masters degrees from each institution, respectively. Post-graduate studies included private courses in organ-playing and improvisation with master teachers in both France and Germany. Kirk is a published composer and his choral works are available from Cypress Publications. Church positions have found Kirk living in varied places such as Salem, New Jersey, Ottawa, Vancouver and again most recently back in Toronto.

When Kirk is not pursuing music, he enjoys long walks with his big and somewhat crazy poodle Max. He loves catching up with family and friends for a coffee, a movie or dinner whenever he can. He suffers greatly from wander-lust and is happiest when I'm travelling or planning the next adventure. Italy and France are his favourite places to visit.
