Led by Roberto Chiotti who has a deep passion for this topic, we will explore together what it looks like to be followers of Jesus in our current ecological context. In addition to obtaining his professional architectural degree from the University of Waterloo, Roberto Chiotti completed his Master of Theological Studies degree at the University of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto with a specialty in Theology and Ecology obtained through its Elliott Allen Institute. He is a founding principal of Larkin Architect Limited, an award-winning, Toronto based firm specializing in the design of sustainable sacred space for parishes and religious communities, mostly within the Christian tradition. He has served for three years on the Bishop’s Committee for Creation Care and is assisting the Diocese in developing a theologically based approach to land and property. In addition to his teaching appointments, Roberto has been invited to speak on the topics of liturgical design, sacred space, eco-theology, and the architectural response to the ecological challenges facing humanity at universities, colleges, parishes, and conferences throughout North America and abroad.
