COLLEGE OF PREACHING
November 1-4, 2027
In 1991, the centennial year of St Clement’s Church, the parish established the College for Excellence in Preaching to provide Canadian clergy the opportunity to study with well-known homilists in order to gain master skills in the art of preaching.

Guest Presenter
The Rev. Dr. HyeRan Kim-Cragg
Rev. Dr. HyeRan Kim-Cragg was appointed the 14th principal of Emmanuel College, her Alma Mater, in 2022 and is the first racialized person to lead the institution and to be promoted to full professor (2021) in the College’s nearly 100-year history. As a leading postcolonial scholar in homiletics, Kim-Cragg is committed to an interdisciplinary approach to homiletics and has been actively addressing climate crisis issues in recent years. Kim-Cragg has been a co-convenor of the workgroup “Preaching, Environment, and Climate Crisis” of the Academy of Homiletics (AOH) since 2022. She has been elected to be the president in 2028. She is the author of fifteen books, including Moments in Time (2024), Practical Theology Amid Environmental Crises (2023), Postcolonial Preaching (2021), and Interdependence (2018). Her articles dealing with the climate crisis and preaching have been published in Religions and Global Religion and Climate Crisis (2026).
