Andrew earned his B.A. in English/Creative Writing from Stanford University (1999), and his M.Div. from Wycliffe College (2005) where he graduated first in his class. Recently he earned his Permaculture Design Certificate (2023) from the Australian master designer, Geoff Lawton.

Andrew grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and never stepped foot in a church before he was 15 years old. Andrew’s deep calling is to tend the edge: between secular and sacred; along boundaries; across cultures and languages. A dual citizen of both the U.S. and Canada, Andrew has called Toronto home since 2002. He is married to Marcia Boniferro and they have two children.

Internationally, Andrew has ministered in rural Kentucky, inner-city Los Angeles, the New Jersey boardwalk, northern Ontario, downtown Montreal, and the mountains of both Kyrgyzstan and Ecuador. Locally, he’s served a university parish, a Spanish-language congregation, and a West Indian church in Toronto’s west end.

Andrew has served St. Clement’s since 2013, where he understands his role as: keeper of the parish’s mission-vision-values; multiplier of its phenomenal staff and lay leaders; and steward of the congregation’s tremendous resources.

Beyond the parish, Andrew can be found in his garden, on his bicycle, and learning to play the banjo.
