Worshipping Together - More ways to get involved!

St. Clement’s is richly blessed through the shared faith, immense talents, diversity, and contributions of everyone in the community. Our worship experience is fortunate to have committed ministry volunteers who help make our Sunday services possible – readers, intercessors (prayers), sacristans, communion ministers, chancel guild, welcome ministry (greeters & ushers), audio/visual team and music and choir members. Each group has its unique duties, but we all have one goal in common – to create an ever-deepening worship experience that nurtures our faith.

As we emerge with hope from the last two challenging years, we encourage you to consider taking a look at our many worship-related groups to see how your gifts of time and talent might fit in. Youth, we look forward to welcoming you in these roles too – get your volunteer hours while engaging in ministry! The leaders of our groups look forward to sharing more about each ministry with you! Below is a snapshot of each ministry along with who to contact to learn more. Please feel free to link up with them at any time. The Holy Spirit works through us and our collective worship experience offering so many opportunities. You might be surprised and delighted to find where God is leading you.

Welcome Ministry

Members of the Welcome Ministry team are the first point of connection on a Sunday and includes both greeters and sides people as described below. If you are enthusiastic about welcoming others, attentive, and eager to help, this is a great role to consider!

Greeters are stationed at the church doors to greet everyone and provide newcomers with guidance and contact information for future visits.

Sides people help to ensure a smooth-running service by assisting people to their seats, providing everyone with service programmes, taking the collection, guiding parishioners to communion, and being available for any questions or assistance.

Choir and Music

Our choirs offer praise through song! At our 9.30 services, the choir helps lead the congregational music. The 11am robed choir, which rehearses on Thursday evenings, also sings psalms and motets from a repertoire of a thousand years of Christian church music in many languages. If you love to sing, can read music and have a voice that can blend with others, please consider getting involved in our choral programme.

Readers & Intercessors

Readers are responsible for reading excerpts of the holy scripture aloud during services. The perfect ministry for those who are comfortable reading aloud or want to improve their public speaking skills. Intercessors lead the prayers of the people as crafted by our clergy team, praying on behalf of everyone in the congregation. If you are passionate about prayer, this is a great way to get involved!

Sacristans

Sacristans prepare the communion elements, act as crucifer for processions including the Gospel, lay the altar table at communion time, assist the clergy as needed and clear, wash up and store the altar vessels after the service. If you are curious about liturgy, in particular the Eucharist, this is a fabulous way to participate.

Chancel Guild

Chancel Guild members fulfill a wide range of duties which include laundering communion linens, maintaining the communion vessels and altar hangings, decorating the church, including floral arranging, for special occasions and keeping the sacristy organized. If you love organizing, decorating and value the importance of a supporting role, please be in touch!

AV Team

We are thrilled that we will continue to offer a digital worship experience of both our Sunday services. AV team members help set up audio equipment to meet the needs of the service and work the cameras and audio mixer from our a/v hub in the gallery. If you are interested in tech or are willing to learn a new skill, serving on our AV Team is for you!
