Welcome Back Sunday

Sunday, September 13th is Welcome Back Sunday at St. Clement’s!

Whether you’ve been here all summer, are back after vacation, or it’s your first time here, this Sunday is all about leaning into God’s unwavering welcome of us all, as we gather together in community. 

It’s also a time to recognize that for many, this first week of September has marked the return to school, perhaps a move to the city for college or university, or simply the return to regular work schedules. To help us mark this shift, we’ll be offering a Blessing of the Backpacks at each of our services, so bring your school or work bag to church on Sunday.

Another tradition we lean into every fall is marking the Season of Creation, a global ecumenical movement to honour and celebrate the importance of our kin-ship with all of God’s creation. From September 13 through to Thanksgiving, our Sunday worship will reflect this year’s theme, Living Water, through our scripture passages, prayers, music and reflections. 

After both our 9:30am and 11am services on September 13th, we’ll gather outside on the terrace for fellowship and refreshments, saying hi to friends old and new – and as always – we’ll kick off a new year of children’s ministry with a bouncy castle on the lawn!
