Happy Pride!

June is Pride month and, as stated on our website and on the inside cover of our program, at St. Clement’s we’re all learning and everybody’s welcome, across age and stage, questions and doubts, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender expression, nationality and religious background, economics and ability.

We acknowledge that for many 2SLGBTQIA+ people the church has been a place of active harm. We are pleased to be part of a Diocese that has issued a formal apology and confession for the church’s historical and current role in perpetuating such harm. We celebrate the uniqueness of every person and are grateful to be united as siblings in Christ with followers of Jesus across the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

As we celebrate Pride month, we give thanks for all 2SLGBTQIA+ people. We lament with those who have not been fully accepted in their faith communities and are seeking a church home. May we know our deep kinship with one another, and celebrate each and every person as a precious child of God.
